The Bilingual Middle Years Programme
The Bilingual Middle Years Programme is designed for students aged 11 to 14.
In these years, boys and girls become even more ready to undertake responsibilities and new challenges, as their vision of the world is wider and deeper day by day. Following the path traced by the PYP, the Bilingual Middle Years Programme aims at supporting students to become even more creative, critical and reflective thinkers. The Bilingual Middle Years Program aims to have students capable to work on their personal understanding, their emerging sense of self and responsibility in their community. The Programme consists of the following subjects:
Students will be able to develop an appropriate academic language (English and Italian) in all disciplines. Due to the nature of our student population and bearing in mind the future educational prospects of the majority of our pupils, our school has made every attempt possible to incorporate and align the Italian National Curriculum learning objectives into the main school curriculum. Parents need, however, to be aware that content as well as methods and approaches to teaching and learning will be different to the traditional Italian school system and be willing to accept that this is part and parcel of the choice they have made when selecting our school for their child. |
